Birdnest

This is a little birdnest and two little birds. The nest came from a package I got a couple years ago at a dollar store and the birds came from Mimi's give-away pile when we cleaned her garage. They could also be purchased at a craft store or the craft section at Walmart.

This activity encourages vocabulary--nest, birds. It also introduces early science concepts regarding birds.

For older children I might include a couple of eggs to go in the nest. I left them out because my teething toddler seems to be on a mouthing streak!

We talk a lot about the nest and that it's the birds' home. She likes to put them in and take them out of the nest!
