Gathering pine needles for our advent wreath

When I planned out our week of Advent work, I had Sunday as our day to make our Advent wreath--in keeping with the first day of Advent.  Well we had a death in the family over the weekend, about 5 very important events....and not very many hours of afternoon daylight.  We didn't get it done.  You know Satan is going to be after our plans to use Advent to grow closer to the Lord, and I had to really fight against the frustration I felt that we were already off our schedule. Thankfully Annette's admonition (that I posted yesterday) to not let perfection get in the way helped me out.  :)  We shifted plans a bit.  Sunday night Matt cut a slice of tree stump for our wreath base and drilled 4 holes in it.  Yesterday we got out the first candle and put it into place (more to come on that).  Our big event was that the kids and I went for a long walk and gathered pine needles that we'll use today to make our wreath!
